Anna just finished her first "real" round of swimming lessons. We had taken her once before when we lived in NY but she was very little and the class was mostly just an introduction to the water. We wanted to get her started to help her (and us) be more confident in the water. Also, she has some big shoes to fill seeing as her Mother still has bragging rights for a high school swimming record from like 1993! (I really do still hold a record but she certainly doesn't have to fill my shoes. I only want her to fill her own with whatever tickles her fancy.)
I was so proud to watch her during the lessons. She really paid attention. She was very serious about it. At the end of the lesson each day they would do something fun with the kids like letting them go down the water slides. At first Anna joined in with the other kids. But after a few days she preferred to stay in the water and practice her new skills. I have to say I was surprised. If it were me I'd be first in line for the water slide!
The teacher said that she did very well and that she had acquired all of the skills to move on to Level II.
